AC October '09: Jamming on Jelly

Synopsis:The Grinka brought the joys of canning to the forefront, using the grapes from their own backyard! (Yes, the squirrels had left some!) It was a day of precise measurements, but well worth the efforts.

AC December '09: Dollapallooza 3

Synopsis:Our third time making Barbies over in our own images. How very godlike! It's what we do! It was a wonderful day, inside being warm and creative while it was snowing outside. We seemed to like feathers! We ended the day with some Christmas ornaments. K made one that looked nice from the front, but a dead turkey from the rear. Hmmm. The Spartan was a little short, but all in all, it was a great time and brought back a much beloved tradition. Huzzah!

AC January '10: 9th Annual Adventure Club Interpretive Christmas

Synopsis:Janny hosted an excellent rendition of ACXMAS. What fun it was! There were cat toys, complete novels, outer space fibers and more! As usual, the best day of the year!

AC February '10: 10th Anniversary Retrospective

Synopsis:We celebrated ten years together. We watched a video, whoo hoo! We also looked back at all the albums we have had, which is nine albums! Wow! We reminisced. We finished up the remaining trivia (a paltry 298 questions) and found it a good day. Wonderful!

AC March '10: Frozen Dead Guy Days in Nederland, CO

Synopsis:The 9th running of this enjoyable and somewhat odd little event, Frozen Dead Guy Days celebrates Grandpa Bredo being laid out with dry ice in a Tuff Shed. Yep, it really is that weird. We took the bus up, saw the sites and the sights, and even took a tour to see the Frozen Dead Guy! Well, we saw his super cold casket, at any rate. It was great day. We missed the Coffin Races, but maybe next year we'll enter and win! Whoo hoo!

AC April '10: Shawn's Super Sneaky Scavenger Hunt

Synopsis:The 10th anniversary of Shawn hosting his last scavenger hunt (where did the time go?) and we loved it! There were three teams. They had to make their way around downtown, solving clues, taking pictures, calling to share information with each other and trying to decipher the mysteries of Shawn's mind --- no easy thing! For Michele and Jojo, it was their 6th anniversary! Congratulations! Thanks for sharing it with all of us! In the end, team JJJM (Jenny, John, Jojo and Michele) came in first place, but everyone had a good time. Then we ate and a few of us went up the clocktower, since it was Doors Open Denver. What a great day!

AC May '10: Mt. Falcon Hike

Synopsis:It's been a while since we had a hike. We went to Mt. Falcon Park and had a fine time, with blue skies and food and views and more. Afterward, we stopped by Red Rocks Amphitheater to take in some more views before celebrating Kim's birthday with her. Happy birthday (yesterday) Kim! Whoo hoo! The days are just packed!

AC June '10: 10th Anniversary Adventure Club Roadtrip!

Synopsis:It was the end of the Adventure Club season, so we naturally had the End of the Adventure Club Season Adventure Club. What a jolly day! We met at Michele and Jojo's place to look at the album, share pictures, chat and enjoy the day. It was a wonderful one (as most are here in paradise!), and from there we visited Dinosaur Ridge, a cool museum and park with actual bones and lots of footprints! Wow! Cressa was particularly impressed with all the dinosaur stuff. Cedric, Sebastian and Orson were less so. Oh well! From there we raced over to the Grinka's to watch the first ever showing of Adventure Club's Next Top Model. There were lots of laughs (whew!) and everyone had a good time. All in all, a great send off for the folks who would continue the journey. There were even Roadtrip CDs to be shared. What a fine send off indeed. Then Roatrip! Roadtrip! To celebrate our tenth anniversary of Adventure Clubbing (which was in February), we took a roadtrip to the House on the Rock in southwestern Wisconsin. Five intrepid explorers drove the LONG way, but it was worth it. We had a nice rental home nearby, very beautiful scenery with lightning bugs, and the House on the Rock itself did not fail to make an impression! Whoa! A strange place, a wonderful place, a place to see. Yay! We also visited the capitol building in Madison and the Cave of the Mounds, with some sidetrips, games, and LOTS of cheese curds mixed in for fun. It was a grand trip for all involved. All the ACers who were not able to make it were sorely missed, but there will be stories aplenty to share. As always, it was wonderful to come home to beautiful Colorado! Congratulations to everyone who's ever been in Adventure Club for ten years well lived! Huzzah!
