AC September '11: Rocks!

Synopsis:We visited the Gem and Mineral Show (wow!), then zoomed westward for a picnic lunch before having a guided tour of the Geology Museum at the Colorado School of Mines, complete with a walkabout outside, where we saw fossils and got some sun. Cinnamon even found the stone representations of Kim, Annie and Minka! Neat! Then we watched the 2010-2011 Year in Review video. Good times, good times!

AC October '11: Spooky at the Museum!

Synopsis:The Museum of Nature and Science hosts a monthly event where you get to learn fun things and, as you might imagine, this time around it was all scary stuff. I got to hold a tarantula (no biggie), and some weird folks went to listen to a zombie talk. Imagine! There was art, candy (Shawn finished off most of it) and good conversation. Oddly, I neglected to get a picture of all of us together, ooops, so you'll have to enjoy the happy faces in smaller groups. It was a fine night, if a little ghouly! Hurray for the season of bloodshed and screamin'!

AC November '11: Sock Puppets Rattlin' the Cage, Part 1

Synopsis:Annie's got a vision to do a music video to the song "Rattle My Cage," so, in order to give voice and movement to her vision, we created sock puppets! MUCH BETTER than our own faces being on camera, don't you think! Yay! We used googley eyes, feathers flying everywhere, and even pierced the tongues of some of our mutilated socks. Poor socks, but it's all in the name of art! We will film another day. For now, it was craftylicious and included burning flesh under hot glue ...what could compete with that! What a great day!

AC December '11: Cookies and Cherries for Christmas!

Synopsis:Well, we have not had a cookie making AC since 2006, so it was time to get into the spirit of YUM over cookies. Jenny was ambitious; not only did we make and decorate sugar cookies, but we also made cherry tarts! Orson was particularly impressed and eager NOT to share! Too cute! It was a delicious and wonderful day with friends. The spoils of the day will last for a few days ...maybe! Ha!
